How do I choose the best WoW pet for me?

While making a choice of the pet you will be using you have to consider which type of content you will be running and with what spec. World of Warcraft is split into two major types PvE and PvP. Depending on which content you will be aiming for you will have to choose your spec, gear and of course, your pet. Click here for more on Best Pet For Hunter

PVP Content

Arena, Battlegrounds and world PvP are three aspects of PvP content, with first two being way more popular and organized. Hunter has a great deal of abilities which make him a very interesting and good class for PvP. PvP is all about controlling the situation and hunter can do that with a proper spec and pet, but keep in mind that your play style will also depend on spec that you will choose. You will be able to produce large amounts of damage to your foes as long as you can keep the range from them but once they get in melee range tables can turn. Keeping distance from their enemies is a must for all hunters.

Various traps and abilities that hunter poses will allow them to do so but sometimes they just won’t be enough to keep the enemies away. Survival is at this point best spec for a PvP hunter with Marksmanship in close second place, were as beast mastery still isn’t that good. Which pet will help me keep distance and control? Answer is, usually Crab and Spider, and those are the most common used pets in arenas and battlegrounds. Basic of hunters dps in PvP is kiting your targets around not letting them get close to you.

Spider pets

Spiders are very good in PvP probably even the best and immobilize effect from their web ability with cunning talent tree is the reason why most hunters use them. Your own abilities and web ability with 40 second cool down should be more than enough to give you control over your enemies’ movement. Web is not dispelable and only way to remove them is with abilities like hand of freedom from paladin. The down side is that spiders don’t have damage output of ferocity pets and survivability of tenacity pets. Feeding them should not be a problem as they are meat eaters! Crab pets for PvP

Crabs are also very popular for PvP for their pin effect which makes targets immobilized but the down part is that the effect is dispellable. On the other hand, crabs are tenacity pets and are harder to kill than spiders.

PVE content

Most popular part of PvE content is definitely raiding. Hunter is a pure dps class and doing maximum dps in raids is their job. Beast mastery dps is too weak when it comes to raiding and both Marksmanship and Survival are hand in hand superior to it. Pets for PvE hunters are basically easy to pick as ferocity is the way to go for PvE, ferocity is all about doing the maximum damage. Now the question comes down to which of the ferocity pets is the best, and once again question is simple to answer: wolf! Wolf’s Furious howl gives you 320 attack power with 50% uptime and it is a very nice boost to your dps. Ferocity talent tree is built around gaining more survivability for your pet and increasing damage done.
